Our Bench Is Part of the Build
Most shops around here run on ten or twenty subs. We keep 300+ vetted subcontractors and suppliers on call, and that depth is what protects the owners who hire us. It only works if the people on that list are people we’d hand a job to tomorrow.
So trade partners are not an afterthought here. You’re the ones putting the work in place, and we try to stay out front with our subs and suppliers the same way we do with our clients — a clear scope, a straight answer, and no mystery about money.
We’d rather carry a shorter list of trades we trust than a long one we don’t. If that’s how you run your business, we should be working together.
What We Look For in a Trade Partner
None of this is exotic. It’s what separates the trade partners we call back from the ones we don’t.
Capacity You Can Back Up
Crews you can actually field on the dates you commit to. We’d rather hear “not this one” than watch a schedule slip because somebody took work they couldn’t cover.
Paper That’s Current
Insurance in force, a W-9 on file, and a legal entity name that matches what you invoice under. It’s the fastest thing to fix and the most common reason a good bid can’t be used.
Straight Communication
Tell us early when something moves — a lead time, a manpower problem, a conflict in the drawings. Problems caught early are cheap. Problems that surface late are not.
What You Get on Our Jobs
The things a good sub actually cares about, and the reasons trades keep bidding our work.
Real Scopes
You bid off a defined scope, not a hand-wave. If the drawings are unclear, we’d rather answer the question before you price it than argue about it after you’re on site.
An Owner Who Answers
We’re small enough that you reach someone who can decide. When something needs a call, you get one — not a queue, and not next week.
Money You Can Track
We run invoicing, job costing, and pay applications on real systems instead of a whiteboard and a truck full of receipts. You’ll know what’s approved and where it stands, and we treat paying our trades on time as part of doing the job right.
We keep our trade partners out front, too. When we’re bidding something in your lane, you’re on the list we call — and the subs and suppliers we rely on hear about the work early.
Getting on the Bench
Three things, and none of them are hard if you’re already running a real business. Send the form below and we’ll walk you through the rest.
01 — Certificate of Insurance
A current COI carrying the coverages your trade requires, with Rising Creek Construction LLC named as the scope calls for. We’ll tell you exactly what the job needs before you call your agent.
02 — W-9
A signed W-9 whose legal name and TIN match the entity you invoice under. Mismatches here turn into 1099 problems at year end, so we check it going in rather than at the end.
03 — Signed Subcontractor Agreement
A master agreement carrying the standing terms — safety, insurance, payment, lien waivers — so the work order on each job stays short and specific to your scope.
